Welcome to my research page!

I am head of the Research Department "Regional Labour Markets" at the IAB and Professor of Regional Labor Economics at the Otto Friedrich University in Bamberg.

I am a Research Fellow at the IZA and a member of the board of associate editors of the Journal of Regional Science and of the committee for regional economics of the Verein für Socialpolitik.

My research focuses on topics in applied microeconomics, which relate to important policy questions.

My main research fields are labor, urban/regional, and international economics.

Currently, I work on topics such as the adjustment of individual workers to the impact of technological change or globalization, as well as commuting and matching on local labor markets.
